Aromatherapy for Stress Relief Is Based on Essential Oils

Aromatherapy is based on oils from plants that provide scents that are very relaxing and therefore remove stress. The practice of aromatherapy originated in France when a chemist had an accident in a laboratory devoted to processing perfume. This scientist put out a fire on his arm with some lavender oil which has become an important part of aromatherapy for stress relief. The scientist recovered quickly from his burns and began studying the healing powers of this essential oil. The lavender oil not only soothed the pain from the burn, but the oil aided the healing. The burn treated with lavender oil did not leave scars.

The original study of the healing powers of these essential oils led to further study. Now there are many proponents of aromatherapy for stress relief. The sale of the essential oils has become a thriving business in many places around the world. The oils are available in shops and through outlets on the internet. Lavender oil remains an important ingredient for aromatherapy for stress relief, but other essential oils have been studied and added to the available oils that help with stress relief. Other oils that are effective tools for stress relief include sage, chamomile, jojoba and avocado.
